Pre-blog note: Today is Saturday and we left Orange last Sunday. Yes, this is late. I am writing this from the airport in Monterey as I wait to fly to Philly to visit a very, very sick family member.

Orange, California
And yes, we could live here!
We arrived to Orangeland RV Resort after a long and windy drive from Las Vegas. The wind in these parts of the country are no joke. The campground was walking distance to lots of activities including one of Mollies new favorites, Lazy Dog Restaurant and Bar. We loved it in Vegas and we loved it in Orange. We have used the place to help socialize our little bossy pants and she’s doing better.

Kimberly traveled the first week we were there so I got some things done and did some exploring. We haven’t had AC in the toad since Austin, TX so I found a great place in downtown Orange…which was a really cool place. AC is fixed (we hope) and just in time for the Spring and Summer. I waited in a cool spot named “snooze” with my “bravacado toast” and espresso feeling very Californian.

The very next day I headed just 34 minutes down the road to Huntington Beach. I spent hours walking the boardwalk and pier and had a cold beer and lunch at Sandy’s…watching very interesting people go by. I also knew that Kimberly and I would have to return.

Orangeland had all the stuff we need as full timers. It had a pool and hot tub and a huge laundry room and tons of fruit trees. Of course I made friends with the neighbors who brought me a daily supply of oranges, tangerines, and grapefruit. Mollie loved the neighborhood but not the dog parks in the campground so we walked a lot.
Once Kimberly returned from travels we spent a week taking walks, heading to the ocean and enjoying amazing Southern California weather. When we went back to Huntington Beach, they were filming a TV show with Rob Lowe!

We had a uneventful and early departure our final Sunday there with another successful landing in Monterey County California and the beauty is breathtaking. Enjoy the pictures of our time in Orange.

PS. If you’re the praying type, Catherine needs all the prayers you can muster. Thanks.
